It is important to me that "older" women [or maybe I should say women that are established in their ministries] provide "younger" women [or women not so established in their ministries] opportunities to actually DO something... not just to follow them around, or do whatever they tell me to and not ask questions, or do the manual labor... but actually be an active part of ministry.
It's important to me to be considered a minister in my own right who I has something to contribute, even though I recognize that I may have less practical experience and definitely have a lot left to learn.
Give me hope. I want to hear about all of your experiences in ministry - good and bad - but I want to know that it's not all bad. Help me not be bitter and angry and resentful and lifeless. Show me that there's life beyond small-minded people who question women's calling. I want to feel like we can make a difference.
I wish that...and appreciate how sometimes...'older' ministers talk about the ways you incorporate the 'being a minister' parts of life with the other everyday parts.
