body, mind and soul

I must admit that one of my guilty pleasures is the movie Clueless with Alicia Silverstone. I love this scene where Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is attempting to make over her new friend Tai. In the dialogue before this clip, Cher coaches Tai on working on all aspects of her life, daily:

CHER: “OK, from now on we're alternating Cindy Crawford's "Aerobicise" and "Buns of Steel", and reading one non-school book a week. My first book is "Fit or Fat".
TAI: Mine is "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus".
CHER: Good. Now that takes care of our minds and bodies, but we should do something good for mankind or the planet for a couple of hours.

Today, may we seek ways to enrich our lives in all aspects; body, mind, and soul.

Sparkfly friends, how will we change the world, if we can't take care of ourselves?

Run a mile, chat with a friend, read a biography, discuss politics over dinner, read the NY Times,be a mentor, learn a new word, challenge yourself today to become a better you, in Christ.

Live well today,

Sparkfly

OK. I've been weeping for the past 15 minutes since I saw the movie trailer for Amazing Grace and read the website for The Amazing Change. What a powerful song! And what a powerful movement!

Thank you for sharing! Yes..sooo powerful. And, when we were in Ghana, we went to the actual slave castle where it all started by the Portugese. I cannot wait to see this film. Powerful, powerful. Thank you for sharing! And the movement...wow. How can we all be a part?

Some things we can do...

Sign the petition.

Add The Amazing Change as your MySpace friend.

Blog this on Blogger, Xanga, MySpace, whatever you use... or if you're not a blogger, send a good old-fashioned mass email.

There are lots more. Let's get creative.
